e-Office pilot project Go-Live at Co Office & Data Center

In line with Management vision of digitization of SPMCIL and IT strategy of achieving complete digitization within 5 years; the first step to becoming paperless office has been achieved. The pilot project of e-Office was implemented successfully at SPMCIL Corporate Office & Data Center. The e-Office application was made live on 24th July 2020 by initiating an IT file from Data Center, which was reviewed and forwarded by AGM (IT) seeking approvals from SPMCIL Top management comprising of D(F), D(T), D(HR) and CMD. The complete cycle & movement of the digital file process was followed end to end successfully. The launch of e-Office at SPMCIL headquarters will ensure a digital workplace solution which has a suite of products that will pave the way for an efficient and open working environment by streamlining workflow for both Head office and subsequently for units making them paperless. The implementation of e-Office application will enhance transparency where files can be tracked and their status is known to all at all times, Increase accountability where the responsibility of quality and speed of decision making is easier to monitor. This will also assure data security and data integrity across SPMCIL by providing a platform for re-inventing and re-engineering the istrative/ office processes. One of the key objectives will be to gradually transform the government work culture and ethics by promoting greater collaboration in the work place and effective knowledge management.

Implementation of Video Conferencing & Go-Live across SPMCIL units with Corporate Office

As part of Management vision of implementing latest technologies at SPMCIL to achieve technology driven efficient & robust work place sustaining effective communications; Video Conferencing solutions has been successfully implemented across SPMCIL by IT department. The project was implemented during the lockdown period induced due to global pandemic COVID-19 across units of SPMCIL located pan India. Major challenges with regards to logistics of supply were surmounted by IT team to enable equipment installations at all the units including remote locations. The Video Conferencing application was formally made live on 25th June 2020 with a virtual meeting chaired by CMD in the presence of DT, DHR, DF, CVO and attended by all Unit CGMs, AGM-IT with team from Data Center successfully. The launch of Video conferencing across SPMCIL units will boost productivity, saves time, reduces travel expenses, and inclusively promote collaboration. VC will not only enable a digital transformation but also create a more collaborative meeting culture irrespective of physical location, which will speed up decision making and improve SPMCIL’s ability to collaborate globally as well. This will also simplify management and usability of organization’s strong workforce by prioritizing mobility, flexibility and modern forms of communication over remote locations. Another objective achieved will be to increase communication reliability by providing a fast and secure way for inter & intra communications enabling SPMCIL to improve value and reduce redundancy and reduce substantial travel costs.

Launch of Commemorative Postal Stamp on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir by Hon’ble Prime Minister

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the commemorative postal stamp on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir after the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony on August 5, 2020. Security Printing Press-Hyderabad, a unit of SPMCIL, made a remarkable achievement by preparing the said commemorative postal stamps on a symbolic model of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir within 24 hours time. Chairman & Managing Director, SPMCIL congratulates the exemplary work done by Chief General Manager, SPP –Hyderabad and his team.
SPMCIL - Inter-Unit quiz competition on 22nd July’2020 (Pen-Paper based) & 24th July’2020 (On-line)

The world is facing an unprecedented time as Covid-19 has affected our lives terribly. With the environment of curtailed employee engagement activities, organization in today’s scenario has to overcome this turmoil with a feeling of “Espirit de corpes “. SPMCIL as a fraternity intends to engrain this feeling and with this premise in mind, an Inter-Unit quiz competition on “General Awareness” amongst the employees of SPMCIL was organised in two stages: Stage-I: Pen-Paper based Quiz (Off-line) was organized on 22.07.2020 whereas Stage-2 was conducted using contemporary method of participation through on-line platform by a “Quiz Master” on 24.07.2020. Employees from 10 centers (9 units and CHO) participated for Stage-I, where in all willing employees participated. For Stage-II of the Quiz Competition, however, top two performers from each Team (Units & CHO) participated. Quiz competition witnessed active participation of Employees with a great zeal and helped them in expanding their knowledge base and hone their team working skills.

For implementing the Management vision of “Mandatory utilization of SAP BI system reports for MIS reporting & discontinuance of manual reporting”, BI Excellence core teams at units have been formed. Further to enable and empower the nominated teams BI Excellence Core team, business vertical wise trainings Security Paper Mill and for Finance team has been scheduled from 3rd to 4th March & for FI BI excellence core team on 5th & 6th March 2020 at Data Centre, IGMN. The training was inaugurated and Key note address was given by our Additional General Manager (IT) Shri Ram Sahai, wherein he encouraged the participants and all present to innovate by thinking out of the box and by adapting the IT systems by discarding manual reporting and optimally utilizing the SAP BI systems for reporting which will not only eradicate duplicity of efforts of officials but will also ensure the time saved is utilized in achieving SPMCIL business objectives. He also briefed regarding the upcoming IT projects where in new technologies like Dynamic Dashboards AI, ML, Data Analysis, machine automation are under consideration for implementation to improve KPIs and achieve desired goals of SPMCIL.
